Summer Maintenance
7th Jun 2022
Hot water is needed all year long. This means there is no summer break for commercial hot water heater maintenance. A plumber should be called in at least once a year unless further issues persist. Summer is an excellent time for standard maintenance because it is less busy and less of a catastrophic event than it would be in the winter months. There are many things that a plumber will check for during standard maintenance. See below for what you should make sure you plumber is checking. 1. Corrosion: Corrosion can be very dangerous because a commercial hot water heater is a pressurized compartment. Any corrosion damage could lead to an explosion. It is important for safety concerns that a plumber check for any potential damage or future corrosion problems. 2. Test the TPR Valve: The temperature and pressure relief valve plays a critical role when it comes to safety and performance. Your plumber will test the performance of this valve to make sure that everything is running as it should. 3. Drain the Tank: Your commercial hot water heater should be drained once per year. This allows the plumber to reach the bottom of the tank to remove mineral build up and debris from the bottom of the tank. It is very important that you do not put off your hot water heater maintenance. This can not only lead to costly repairs or replacement but many safety concerns as well. Particularly if you own a commercial business you want to help maintain the safety of others. One of the ways that you can help maintain their safety is by properly maintaining your commercial hot water heater.
